The Festool SELFCLEAN Filter Bag SC FIS-CT 26/5 solves a problem that
plagues other dust extractors and vacuums. The normal usage of dust
extractor results in fine particles of dust clinging to the inner lining of
the filter bag resulting in caking. This layer of dust reduces the suction
power and results in poor efficiency and performance. It might also strain
the dust extractor’s motor and result in premature failure.
Festool developed a Filter Bag that is made of unique pliable fleece and
not rigid like many other types of bags and prevents caking. It is made to
be tear resistant and prevents bag blow outs which can be messy to clean
up. It also serves as a pre-filter and is able to trap dust particles down
to five millionths of a meter, or 5 microns. By capturing these small
particles, the bag extends the life of your main HEPA filter. This in turn
reduces wear and tear as well as the expense of frequent filter
replacement. An integrated closure on the bag shuts the opening to prevent
spilling. It also makes bag disposal quick and mess-free.
